The aim of the course is to stimulate an in-depth ability to discuss matters inherent the social history and material culture of Ancient Egypt. This course will investigate various issues related to Egyptian society and some of its components over time. The aim is to broaden the focus of research in order to explore different social topics and to investigate how the material culture can help us answer open questions. During the course various topic of social history will be tackeld through the analysis of the material culture. For each topic taken in account various questions and research strands will be discussed in order to stimulate the discussion and critical skills of the student. The course aims to be a inspiring moment in which lectures will be alternated with presentations made by student and moments of shared discussion. In addition to the classroom activities practical activities in important museums and research institution will be carried out. At the end of the course, the students will be able to autonomously integrate archaeological, iconographic and textual sources.
